I got back into town at around 3am Sunday morning from Tallahassee. I wound up booking a last minute gig at a place called Cool Grindz. Thanks to Aldo and the staff for having me. I will be able to go back there for a show the next time through, maybe on the way to SXSW. I posted some notes from the road in the Blog section on Myspace for anyone who wants to check out how the first couple of shows went. Lastly, I just wanted to throw out a few things I learned this time out on the road. 1. People love CBGB’s - every time I wear the shirt, I wind up talking to someone about the place and it‘s history and how bad the bathrooms were. Did I mention Scott and I performed there years ago. Pretty Cool. 2. St. Augustine has really short, stong, pillar type things in the Milltop parking lot you have to watch out for. I have the scrape on the bumper to prove it. Fortunately it sounded worse than the damage. Back up till it sounds expensive…right? 3. Jesus owns and operates a trucking company on US 84 in GA. The sign said so!! 4. That same road is home to a lot of really odd looking road kill. I still have no idea about a few of them. 5. Do not throw out the BP gift card till you finish pumping the gas and making sure you used it all. Thanks to Dayna and family for the gas by the way. I think that is about it. AUGUSTINE The show in St. Augustine went well. The Santa Maria Fisherman’s Wharf is a cool spot for the songwriter show and the folks there took good care of us. VAL’S I had a cancellation for the Gainesville gig Saturday, but I wound up with a last minute show at a place called Val’s in Titusville. My Mom lives over there and was able to hook up a show for me. Thanks to Val’s for having me. They gave me an open invitation to play there if I needed a gig over that way any time, so I appreciate that. I also was able to visit with the family for a little which was great. SONGWRITER SHOWCASES Friday we are back at Dunedin Brewery for the “In The Round” Songwriter Showcase. This one will feature Colton McKenna from St. Augustine, Jeff O’Kelley from Dunedin and Bob Anthony who is another local musician. All 4 of us will be on stage sharing songs and stories and possibly playing a bit together. Saturday we will be at the Globe from 8-12. We will do solo or duo sets here. I just got back Tuesday afternoon from the tour to SC. The shows were great and I met some really cool people and musicians. I wanted to send my thanks to the venues, Club Red, Milltop Tavern, Kudu Coffee House and Jammin Java for having me. I also played a few open mics, 2 in Gainesville (Club Red and the Shamrock) and 1 at the Sentient Bean in Savannah on Sunday. Milltop had me back on Monday from 5:30 - 8:30 and Colton came out to play for that show as well. A special thanks to Don for that gig. The Musicians, Kid Moe, Larry Martin, Forever in Motion (Brendan Thomas) and Joe Wilson, Anne from Red Boy who sat in on violin, Colton McKenna who totally hooked me up with a place to stay, some great food and the first show at Milltop, Sam Pacettti, Dim Lit Daylight who gave me the show at Jammin Java, Joanie and the folks from Sentient Bean and Owen from St. Augustine who joined me on percussion Monday. & The fans. To everyone who signed the list and bought CD’s and took the time to talk to me about the music and where to play and offered places to stay for the next tour. The Who Tribute was pretty cool this weekend and seemed like a great success for radio station. My first show there went well and I will be back on the 7th. ACOUSTIC TOUR This week I am hitting the road for the acoustic tour to South Carolina. We hope you all had a good weekend. Ý We were light on the shows this past weekend, although Scott and Anson played with our friend Brad (Bubba Hubba) opening for Kevn Kinney. I have not heard from them yet, but a Kevn Kinney show with Bubba Hubba on a SoCo Saturday in Georgia had to be crazy. Ý I spent some time working on demos of the songs for ÏFireflies÷Ó this weekend. I may be trying a couple of them out at the shows coming up if you want a preview. Ý THIS WEEK Ý This Wednesday we are at Empire Night Club with Anodyne Project and Worldwide Zoo. Ý I have a last minute show in Gainesville Thursday night opening for Matt MacKelcan and Randall Shreve from Orlando. This show will take place at Club Red where I will also be performing during the tour at the end of June. Ý Friday we are back at the Dunedin Brewery for a ÏSongwriter ShowcaseÓ with Pete Woj from Orlando and Gracie formerly of the Funky Seeds. This one we are doing ÏIn The RoundÓ with all artists on stage taking turns playing songs. Ý Finally, Saturday with the CD Tradepost show early and then a special show at RockerfellaÌs that night. This is a first time show for us at this venue and it is an SMA showcase as well as a Ïcall to actionÌ show on an ordinance that was passed in May. Ý BRADENTON SMA SHOWCASE / CALL TO ACTION - Music Threatened in Bradenton/Sarasota Area Ý For those of you who have not heard, County commissioners on May 23 adopted an ordinance that prohibits people under 21 from entering bars or nightclubs where food makes up less than 10 percent of gross revenue. That means Rockerfella's, which is one of the only venues for live original music in Manatee, will lose about a third of its regular customers. The shows that are normally held at RockerfellaÌs are 18 & up, giving music fans of many ages the chance to see their local bands and some independent or national acts perform. Ý This issue is a pretty big blow to the local scene here, and our friend Ben from Rumors of War has been working hard to have an exception made for venues where LIVE music is performed. We could all use your support on this. That being said, we ask that you Please read the article and vote in the online poll. If enough interest is generated, it will end up in front of the commission again, and many local musicians are prepared to meet with the commissioner to come up with a compromise. The shows last weekend were awesome. We played Fogartyville CafÈ for the Have Gun Will Travel CD release party. We were joined by Sarah Morningstar and we played the show in the ìIn The Roundî format where all artists were on stage at the same time taking turns playing songs. Scott and I joined Matt for his song Silver and the Age of Opulence. Scott on slide and I had my debut on banjo. Thanks to Dave and Arlene and the Fogartyville volunteers as well as Matt for inviting us. I also had my first show back at Stir The Soul in a couple of months on Saturday. It was really good to be back there. Thanks to Phillip and the Stir the Soul crew as well as the Palmers who saw us play there a while back and came back out. BAND DATES We have a few band dates this month, and a couple of new venues as well. We will be doing an Empire Nightclub show in Ybor, an SMA showcase in Bradenton at Rockerfellas and we have been invited to perform at a Who tribute put on by WMNF 88.5. More information to follow on bands, times and places. THE DISTILLERY A new show for me in Bradenton at the Distillery will start in June. I will be performing from 5-8 on Friday the 23rd. As far as I know, there is no cover for these shows and I will be doing 3 sets of original tunes so I hope some of you can make it out. TOUR IN LATE JUNE I am currently working on a tour in late June. I have a show in July on the 1st at Jammin Java in Columbia SC. The last week of June I am hoping to be playing shows on my way up to SC in St. Augustine, Savannah and Charleston. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, if any of you happen to have any connections or info for me on a place to play, I could use the help. REGULAR SHOWS I have Itís A Grind and CD Tradepost gigs this month as well as our third Friday at the Dunedin Brewery. I am not sure if we will do a Songwriter Showcase this month or a band show. I am working on line ups, but either way we will be there. All of these shows are free and except for the Brewery, all ages are welcome. I plan on hitting the first Friday open mic in Bradenton at Javamoon on Cortez since we do not have a show and I may be doing a make up CD Tradepost show that Saturday as well. Javamoon is located at 3409 Cortez Road, Bradenton. A great flamenco band called Dulce plays in between open mic sets. Check it out if you get a chance. The Songwriter Showcase at The Globe went well. Saturday - FMF 2006 Saturday I went out to Orlando for the open mic that was supposed to be happening at The FMF (Florida Music Festival) 2006. I found out when I got there, after a 2 hour drive, that they had to cancel due to sound system issues. Luckily, I had my PA in the car so I offered to run the open mic. I wound up with a Staff pass to the rest of the show in return for helping out. After I finished around 10-10:30pm I got to see the Wynn Brothers and Mofro. I also ran into Christina Wagner for those of you who know her from In The Raw. I want to send my thanks to Steve from CD Tradepost for letting me reschedule the CD Tradepost gig so I could make it out there. Also to the folks at FMF for being so cool and hooking me up. UNSIGNED MAGAZINE AND MOOZIKOO RADIO This Past week I found out we got accepted to Unsigned Music Magazine www.unsignedmusicmag.com for a future article. Unsigned is based out of Atlanta and their claim is that they are the largest magazine dedicated to Independent Music. It may take a number of months for the article, but I will keep you posted. In other cool news, Sorry In The Meantime was accepted to another internet radio station called Moozikoo Radio www.MoozikooRadio.com. Again, I will let you know more about that as I find out. The packages went out for both of these opportunities this week. HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL - CD RELEASE PARTY This Friday we have a change in our schedule. We were supposed to be at Mickey’s, but we were invited to perform with Matt Burke at his CD Release Party for the Have Gun Will Travel CD he put out. The trip was incredible and busy and we must have walked a million miles in 3 days. Our hotel was right by the Empire State Building and Grand Central. We spent a lot of time in the village, we saw a Broadway show on Saturday during the rain and we went to ground zero on Sunday. We also stopped by CBGB?s which will be closing in September. I can?t believe that place is going to close. The Ramones, Blondie and The Talking Heads among so many others got their start there. Well I am glad I got to see it one more time. THE LIVING ROOM The show at The Living Room was really cool. A last minute performance by Martha Wainwright was scheduled before my set. Martha is Rufus Wainwright sister and the daughter of Louden Wainwright. They told me the last time she played there Rufus sat in with her. No such luck this time, but her mother and Aunt played a few tunes and she was incredible. Michelle Malone, Garrison Starr and Anne McCue performed in the round after my set. Michelle is an artist from Atlanta who played back when Scott and I lived and performed there. Small world. All three girls were really, really good. I was reading through my Performing Songwriter magazine at the airport and noticed that Garrison Starr?s CD was reviewed in there. Anyway, I had a great time performing and thought it sounded really good in the room. Many thanks to The Living Room for having me and to Steve the sound guy for doing such a great job. Thanks to Deb, my friend from Southampton who took a bus all the way into the city (2 hours) to come see me play. Also to John and Heather and Mike who all used to live here in Florida. I came back late Saturday / early Sunday morning after a couple of cold nights camping. It rained a little Thursday and Friday and there was a freeze warning for Saturday night. I was a little under the weather so I thought it best to head out. I did not wind up placing in the contest but I was among some great songwriters and the experience was awesome. The top winner was a guy named Jud from Maine. He left a comment on the Myspace site if you want to check him out www.myspce.com/thehumancondition. A lot of the bands and musicians performing put on seminars during the day. I caught as many of those as I could and met some of the guys who were hosting them. Larry Keel and Jack Williams were two really great guitarists and this young guy from a band called the Biscuit Burners was great as well. The mandolin seminar was put on by a guy named Mike Marshall who was amazing. He plays in a duo with a guy named Hamilton de Holonda from Brazil? I think. If you like the mandolin you should really check them out. Unbelievable stuff. I met some of the guys from the Buddy Miller Band as well as Victor Wooten and Jeff Coffin from the Flecktones. Then Saturday early evening I was standing side stage for Mike Marshall's performance and I look over and Bela Fleck is standing next to me checking it out too. Pretty cool. Thanks to all of you for the support and well wishes for this Springfest opportunity. I feel this is the first of many more to come. IT'S A GRIND LAST WEEK For those of you who missed the show last week at It's A Grind, I had 2 guys sit in with me since Anson was out of town. This guy Bob came down and played some harmonica on some tunes and this guy Rick who I have been talking to about adding violin, viola and cello parts to some of the songs came out and sit in also. Rick may be out at some of the band shows as well as doing some of the acoustic stuff with me. SUWANEE SPRINGFEST SONGWRITING COMPETITION This past November, our good friend Mike Patrick passed on some info about a songwriting competition. The CD will be sort of a dedication to those that have passed on, in an effort to keep their story and their memory alive. I am calling it ÑFireflies in Mason Jars,â which is one of the lines in the song Godspeed. I will keep you posted on how that is going over the next few months. MARCH March is looking to be another great month for us. We have four full band shows from Bradenton to St. Pete to Dunedin. We will be doing a CD release party for Cuban Sandwich Crisis on the 11th and a St. Patrick's Day show with Four Star Riot in Dunedin. We have our first booked night at Fortunato's in St. Pete that will include a band set an acoustic set and possibly a special guest. Finally, another set at Rasher TierneyÇs with the same line up of Signal 76 and The Chase Theory on the 18th. I have already been in contact with some clubs there and I am working on playing some acoustic shows while I am in town. SONGWRITER SHOWCASE - IN THE ROUND We did the Songwriter Showcase this Friday with the in the round style, which I hear is pretty common in Nashville. I plan on starting the night off like this from now on. All four songwriters on stage taking turns playing and talking about their songs before we get into the solo sets. I loved it and the feed back on it was really positive as well. I appreciate everyone going along with the idea, making it work and sharing the stage with me. The crowd response to our set was really good and we gained a lot of new friends and fans. Our friend / brother from another mother Brad (Bubba Hubba) sat in on a few tunes and added some great melodies and harmonies to the mix. Kevn Kinney did a solo acoustic set after us. What a great storyteller and songwriter. He was a little under the weather but he pushed through and even played a bit of an encore. The crowd was in kind of a horseshoe around the stage calling out songs and singing along to them. It was very inspiring to see him perform in such an intimate setting. He has certainly gained a new fan in me. Will Quinlin and the Diviners closed out the night. Will is another amazing songwriter from our area, in case you don?t know him. I understand the importance of communicating the songs and the message to all of you through the recordings and the lyrics. But there is nothing quite like the energy of a group of people in the same room being part of the live music experience in the moment. Abraham Maslow talks about the "Peak Experience" in regards to his theory on Self Actualization. For me, writing and performing music is the closest thing to the peak experience that I can relate to. I will keep you posted on that. Film / Soundtrack Yesterday I picked up a DVD copy of the film that I did the soundtrack work on for Rob. These guys did a great job on their movie, and were able to use all the tunes I wrote for it. We may try to figure out a way for you to see it on the web site. Once we check with Rob and make sure it?s cool we will see if we can make that happen. If not, maybe we can hook some of you up with a copy or something. This Week This week we are back to the practice schedule, and working on wrapping things up for January. DUNEDIN BREWERY FRIDAYS: The Dunedin Brewery has us booked for every third Friday through the end of the year. This gives us a great home base in Dunedin for band shows and the songwriter showcase shows. We are working on a songwriter showcase for January with an artist from Orlando. I will keep you posted on that. WEEKLY PLANET INTERVIEW: The Weekly Planet interviewed Scott and I last week for a band profile that will come out today, so check it out if you get a chance. ANSON JOINS THE BAND: Anson Mitchell (mandolin / guitarist / banjo player / beer and wine brewer extraordinaire) has signed on with The Human Condition, so we are now at least a three piece. Also, I have been in contact with a cello player that may do some shows in the future, so keep checking us out. One at The New World Brewery on Nov. 10th with Joran Oppelt from Auditorium and Scott Harrell form Nessie, and the following night at The Dunedin Brewery with Will Quinlan and Rebekah Pulley. We are set to do video and record the performances, so I hope you can make it out to take part in this event. I am very excited about the line up for both of these nights, and I really appreciate all of the artists who agreed to perform. Forgot the old wallet and had no money or I.D. I had to write a check for a toll on the Florida Turnpike and call home to get a drivers license number. My Mom came out to the show and saved me for the trip home. Much love and thanks to my Mom for coming through in the tough spots as she always does. The Orange Door was a cool venue. James the guy who ran sound and I think owns the place was awesome. He recorded the set, so once I get it, I will see how it sounds and maybe get some of you a copy. Anyway, both bands put on an awesome show. Weezer was great and Dave Grohl is the man. Great stage presence and an awesome sense of humor. The band played great and loud and tight and ripped through a bunch of awesome tunes with a cool multimedia type set. Talk about high energy rock and roll, and he had a leg injury to boot. Dave did ?Everlong? solo on the electric and it gave me chills. We had a busy week last week and I am just now catching up. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd of this month are gone as far as our shows, so I will give you what we have left. Thanks to all that were able to come out this past week and to all that donated what they could at the benefit shows this past weekend. The show at the Clubhouse raised $397.00 to go toward helping the hurricane victims. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of the guys in Rumors of War for putting that together, also to the Clubhouse for making a donation. The show on Saturday for Irene Sage from New Orleans, was successful as well. I am not sure of the funds raised, but a lot of clothes were donated and a couple that own a home in Palmetto, donated their house to the Sage family for four months with no payment for rent or utilities. Bright House also was able to offer them cable for no charge for the time they will be there. We have been asked about playing other shows to help raise money, so we will let you know when and where they are. In the meantime, we are keeping those that are going through this rough time in our thoughts and in our hearts, and will continue to do what we can to help. Speaking of, I just got a call (literally) from Knowing Stu about a benefit at Gasoline Alley on the 10th of this month. I will know more in the next day or so, but I will definitely be playing either full band or acoustic. Our goal is to get 100 or more people there. If we reach that goal, there is an offer to donate a LARGE sum of money along with whatever we can raise at the door. Gasoline Alley will also be kicking in money and offering drink specials which will go to the benefit. Please tell everyone you can about this show and come out and bring people with you. We have been in practice mode and are ready to get back out and play some shows. August is going to be a huge month for us, and we promise to keep it interesting. We have been working up some of the old tunes we stopped playing and have a few new ones to share with you as well. We also plan to start tracking some of the new songs and preparing for the next CD. Acoustic shows I have a steady gig at the Dockside Smoothies and Coffee Bar in Palmetto for those of you who donÇt know. Every other Wednesday night in August I will be there. The acoustic gigs have been great, Anson's mandolin playing and the addition of Chris on back up vocals continue to change the way the tunes are presented. We had our first Gainesville show this past month and had a busy gig schedule at home as well. Saturday night, Redboy came down from gainesville to play with us and cruxtrigger at The Bank in St. Pete. Overlooking the fact that the place holds like 2000 people and we only had about 60 through the door, it was a great show. It's only a matter of time before word gets out what a great venue this is. It was a pleasant surprise to have such a big and appreciative crowd. We assumed most people would be in downtown St. Pete for the big Grand Prix races, so to see a full room of smiles was truly a blessing. And the Rock don't stop. This Saturday, April 9, 2005 the Human Condition returns to The Bank in St Pete, as a guest of Crux Trigger and Hosts for Red Boy, who are making their way down for gainesville to play with us. Thompson, the hard-living writer who inserted himself into his accounts of America's underbelly and popularized a first-person form of journalism in books such as "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," has committed suicide. Thompson was found dead Sunday in his Aspen-area home of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, sheriff's officials said. He was 67. Thompson's wife, Anita, had gone out before the shooting and was not home at the time. Besides the 1972 classic about Thompson's visit to Las Vegas, he also wrote "Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72." The central character in those wild, sprawling satires was "Dr. Thompson," a snarling, drug- and alcohol-crazed observer and participant. Thompson is credited alongside Tom Wolfe and Gay Talese with helping pioneer New Journalism — or, as he dubbed it, "gonzo journalism" — in which the writer made himself an essential component of the story. Thompson, whose early writings mostly appeared in Rolling Stone magazine, often portrayed himself as wildly intoxicated as he reported on such historic figures as Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton (news - web sites). "Fiction is based on reality unless you're a fairy-tale artist," Thompson told The Associated Press in 2003. "You have to get your knowledge of life from somewhere. You have to know the material you're writing about before you alter it." Thompson also wrote such collections as "Generation of Swine" and "Songs of the Doomed." His first ever novel, "The Rum Diary," written in 1959, was first published in 1998. Thompson was a counterculture icon at the height of the Watergate era, and once said Richard Nixon represented "that dark, venal, and incurably violent side of the American character." Thompson also was the model for Garry Trudeau's balding "Uncle Duke" in the comic strip "Doonesbury" and was portrayed on screen by Johnny Depp in a film adaptation of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." That book, perhaps Thompson's most famous, begins: "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold." Other books include "The Great Shark Hunt," "Hell's Angels" and "The Proud Highway." His most recent effort was "Hey Rube: Blood Sport, the Bush Doctrine, and the Downward Spiral of Dumbness." "He may have died relatively young but he made up for it in quality if not quantity of years," Paul Krassner, the veteran radical journalist and one of Thompson's former editors, told The Associated Press by phone from his Southern California home. "It was hard to say sometimes whether he was being provocative for its own sake or if he was just being drunk and stoned and irresponsible," quipped Krassner, founder of the leftist publication The Realist and co-founder of the Youth International (YIPPIE) party. "But every editor that I know, myself included, was willing to accept a certain prima donna journalism in the demands he would make to cover a particular story," he said. "They were willing to risk all of his irresponsible behavior in order to share his talent with their readers." The writer's compound in Woody Creek, not far from Aspen, was almost as legendary as Thompson. He prized peacocks and weapons; in 2000, he accidentally shot and slightly wounded his assistant trying to chase a bear off his property. He also is survived by his son, Juan Thompson. Born July 18, 1937, in Kentucky, Hunter Stocton Thompson served two years in the Air Force, where he was a newspaper sports editor. He later became a proud member of the National Rifle Association and almost was elected sheriff in Aspen in 1970 under the Freak Power Party banner. Thompson's heyday came in the 1970s, when his larger-than-life persona was gobbled up by magazines. His pieces were of legendary length and so was his appetite for adventure and trouble; his purported fights with Rolling Stone editor Jann Wenner were rumored in many cases to hinge on expense accounts for stories that didn't materialize. It was the content that raised eyebrows and tempers. His book on the 1972 presidential campaign involving, among others, Edmund Muskie, Hubert Humphrey and Nixon was famous for its scathing opinion. Working for Muskie, Thompson wrote, "was something like being locked in a rolling box car with a vicious 200-pound water rat." Nixon and his "Barbie doll" family were "America's answer to the monstrous Mr. Hyde. He speaks for the werewolf in us." Humphrey? Of him, Thompson wrote: "There is no way to grasp what a shallow, contemptible and hopelessly dishonest old hack Hubert Humphrey is until you've followed him around for a while." The approach won him praise among the masses as well as critical acclaim. Writing in The New York Times in 1973, Christopher Lehmann-Haupt worried Thompson might someday "lapse into good taste." "That would be a shame, for while he doesn't see America as Grandma Moses depicted it, or the way they painted it for us in civics class, he does in his own mad way betray a profound democratic concern for the polity," he wrote. And it also happens to be the place where I met my wife, so come out and help us celebrate. So last Friday, we had the opportunity to open for Mason Jennings at the Boiler Room in Seminole and it was great. Really cool crowd, good vibe, and their set was just amazing. Three guys sounded like an orchestra, and hardly broke a sweat after an hour and a half. They owned every note they played, and it was a pleasure to watch from the audience. A big thanks to Demetrius and The Boomerz Boiler Room people, and a shout out to the Cuban Sandwich Crisis, who also played a great opening set. Saturday's tsunami benefit rock show turned out to be a solo acoustic set by Dean, which was amazing by the way. Sarasota will still have to wait for the full band set, but we're talking with the New Crash Position about doing a show with them at Rockefellas in Bradenton in the near future, so keep a look out. Shout to Jawn from New Crash for supporting Saturday night. If any of you are in Orlando this weekend, check them out at the Hard Rock Live with The Morning After and Dmanufacture this Friday, February 11, 2005. Its been a very busy and successfull weekend. With two great shows and two new prime spots of press, the reach of The Human Condition is broadening every day. This Friday night, January 28, 2005 Dean will be performing 2 solo acoustic sets, with surprise guests, at a new coffeeshop called Central Perk West, located at 9130 Town Center Parkway, in Lakewood Ranch, FL. This is in the south-of-the-skyway/Bradensota area, so we hope to see some friends. This is a great chance for you to experience the human condition in an intimate environment, one where the nuance and lyrical meaning of the song is in the spotlight.
The following weekend, on Friday, February 4, 2005, the full band brings the power and dynamic of the human condition to the stage at Boomerz Boiler Room in Seminole, FL. We have the great pleasure of opening for Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter Mason Jennings, a unique performer in the vein of classic Dylan fronting a trio, one who has been turning heads and winning over audiences throughout the northeast and midwest. We have had a number of really cool shows recently, and have a quite a few more coming up. The CD is reaching an ever-widening audience as a result and also has been reviewed in a few publications. We certainly appreciate all of the feedback. Our next show marks the return to an old stomping groud for Dean and I, The Neptune Lounge in Tarpon Springs. We will be playing with Four Star Riot, who've just released a new CD and are making waves they damn selves! This show will be on Saturday, November 12, 2004, and the show will start @10pm. Following that, Dean has an acoustic show, on the 20th of November in Palmetto; this is the first south of the skyway show in ages, and Deans' doing 2 sets so you know there will be some surprises! The past few weeks have been interesting to say the least. The road trip up north, with performances in Atlanta, the festival in Indiana, and Gainesville, was a blast, pictures are here. The trip was just as crazy as you could imagine, 17 people, three vehicles, 2400 miles, nearly as many beers. What a great time. Last Friday's Hurricaine show was a blast as well, the max allen band were great, we rocked pretty good, the burden fly set was a long time coming and quite gratifying, and badwithnames kept the party rockin'. Many, many thanks to all of the new faces we met, and big hugs and kisses to our friends and family. You guys make this possible, year after year. Dean will be performing a solo Acoustic set NEXT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2004 at Fogartyville Cafe, in his hometown of Bradenton, FL, opening for lauded bay area singer songwriter, Rebekah Pulley and her band, The Reluctant Prophets.
